History of the
Boulder Brewers
The Boulder Brewers Wheelchair Softball Team was a brainchild of Rich St. Denis, an avid player and Boulder, Colorado resident. Rich helped to bring wheelchair softball into the northern metro area as well as expose the sport to numerous tennis players from around the state. The Brewers were one of the first teams to incorporate women athletes into their roster as starting players along with other experienced players.
In 1998, when the Blake St. Bombers and the Colorado Rockies wheelchair teams were both vying for the better and more competitive players, the Brewers were able to fill their roster with some of the more experienced players which kept the team competitive.
The team ultimately went on to compete at the 1998 National Wheelchair Softball Tournament placing 16th in the country.
